Google Earth

Explore the world from your screen

Google Earth is a globe for browsing places through satellite imagery, 3D terrain, buildings, and ground-level views. It suits travellers checking a destination, students learning how places fit together, and curious users who want to examine a neighbourhood, coastline, mountain range, or landmark before visiting it.

From continents to street corners

Start with a broad view of the planet, then move down to cities and individual locations. You can tilt and rotate the map to get a better sense of slopes, buildings, and surrounding geography. Street View adds 360-degree scenes at ground level, making it possible to look around many roads and public places without being there in person.

More than a map browser

The app also includes guided content through Voyager, which offers selected tours and stories about places, cultures, nature, and history. Users can create and share maps and presentations of their own, giving the app a practical role in classroom projects, trip planning, and location-based storytelling. The large amount of imagery can make it an absorbing tool for unhurried exploration, though detailed 3D views may be demanding on some devices.
